Monthly Rewind & Forward [July 2026]
I had other plans for the Monthly Rewind & Forward [July 2026] edition but everything changed on Wednesday July 29

Welcome to Monthly Rewind & Forward for June 2026
How was your month, my sister?
July was unfolding softly until Wednesday, 3 days before the end of the month.
I had written an outline for this newsletter and was planning to write about a road trip to the Fjord of Saguenay, hiking and biking on the most beautiful trails, and my brother's birthday.
... and then I went viral 😳

It's been 4 years since an IG reel of me sharing an inspirational message to women living in larger bodies went viral… on the wrong side of the internet. Think manosphere and red pill crowd, so needless to say I spent days blocking and deleting.
So after 1 hour of posting my "GLP-1 Rebound Era Prediction" reel, I started to see the views climbing very quickly. I braced myself for what was to come.
But first I made a decision
I had been in the contemplation phase of making strategic changes to my business marketing system since the beginning of the year. It had become clear that the way I was using social media wasn't working anymore and that I needed to change.
In May, a reel showed up on my IG feed from an old binge coach colleague from years gone by, Jesse Jean, and I started binging her new content (pun intended 😉). She has reinvented herself into a content creator and is very successful.
On June 13, I made a decision to take action and upgrade my social media skills. I was going to learn from Jesse in round 2 of her Yap Challenge.
The Yap Challenge and me
Posting on social media is a behavior, and I'm a behavior change expert, so I used the same process my clients learn to change their eating, body image, and health behaviors. (By the way, I'll be teaching you this process next Thursday.)
LEARN ➡️ BUILD ➡️ HAVE
I committed myself to 1 year of daily posting so that I can learn new skill sets, build sustainable behavioral patterns, and have the identity of a successful marketer using social media to build a community and inspire clients to work with me.
So I went to work.
And then THIS happened.

I went viral on Facebook with this reel.
Interestingly enough, what I was expecting didn't happen. No fatphobic comments, no attacks on my integrity, no spamming my website. I only had to block and delete 1 person, and it's been 3 days now.
The differences this time from last time I went viral: (1) my own healing of diet trauma, and (2) my reel went viral to mostly women.
4 years ago I was still new at the skill of creating inner safety, so I was very defensive and was trying to convince people of my worth in the viral video comments, and that fueled the fire. Whereas 3 days ago I was able to watch the comments roll in and not feel attacked, and didn't need to prove myself or my opinion. I mostly stayed curious and calm. My body stayed loose, with no chronic pain flare-ups.
I can see how some people say "phones are addictive." On Wednesday and Thursday I would catch myself scrolling without realizing I was scrolling. I noticed how hard it was for me to focus on tasks. My brain was "fuzzy" from being on social media sooo much, and it wanted more. I had to use willpower, discipline, and many coaching tools to put my phone away and regulate myself back to baseline.
That was the most interesting part of going viral.
And this is only the first 2 weeks
I had to remind myself this morning that my first Yap Reel was posted on July 14, which means it's only been two weeks of a 52-week journey 😅.
In August I'll be learning how to do series. I have one unfolding now, "Beyond GLP-1: The Personal Decision Series," and I'm planning to start a new one this Friday: behind the scenes of running a non-diet coaching business in the GLP era.
I'm honestly very excited about this social media behavior. Let's see what happens in August.
