[Case Study] Intuitive eating is not the end point. Normal Eating is
I am the case study this time. A story about my latest All-inclusive resort trip.
Read time: 5 min.
This case study isnât about one of my clients. This is my story.
In February 2026 I went to an all-inclusive resort for the first time in decades and this is the story of what happened at the âall you can eatâ buffet and bar.
Context: To help women change their relationship with food permanently, the work is seldom about learning to eat slower or breathe through a craving.
It's about changing what they believe they deserve.
Because most of the time, the food behavior isn't the problem. It's the self worth underneath it.
Cabo. Daiquiris & a buffet.
In February 2026 I spent a full day at an all-inclusive resort in Cabo with friends. Unlimited food. Open bar. Frozen daiquiris at the pool.
And I moved through all of it like it was just a day.

(seen in this pic is a bloody mary among the many frozen daiquiris đ)
At breakfast, I walked to the buffet to see what was available. Then I caught myself asking a question: what do I actually feel like eating?
I got an omelette made the way I wanted it. Smoked salmon. A bagel with cream cheese. I filled my plate, sat with my friends, and put my fork down when I was satisfied. Food still on the plate. I picked up my mimosa and kept talking.
At the pool I drank seven or eight daiquiris. No crash. No shame. No story about what the sugar was doing to me.
I wore a bright red bathing suit and floated around the pool.
Nothing dramatic happened. That is the whole point.
What Most People Do When They Struggle With Feeling âOut of Controlâ with Food
When someone struggles with compulsive eating or binge eating, the standard advice is: practice mindfulness, use breathwork, avoid trigger foods.
These tools are not wrong. Some of them helped me.
But they are all coping strategies. They manage the behavior. They do not address why the urge is there in the first place.
So the woman keeps needing them. Because the belief underneath has not changed.
What Was Actually Happening
Twenty years ago, I chose all-inclusive resorts on purpose. My friends and I were all chronic dieters. We picked those trips to release the rules for a week because we were going back on a diet the following Monday.
I drank daiquiris I didn't enjoy because I needed the alcohol to feel comfortable moving in my body in a bathing suit. I needed something outside myself to give me the confidence my own self worth couldn't.
Not a food problem. A self worth problem that man infested itself in body image and then food control . A belief, built from years of social conditioning, that my body was a measure of my value.
The food behavior was the symptom. Never the cause.
What I Did Instead To Solve âmy struggle with foodâ
I started the intuitive eating process ten years ago. That removed the food rules and helped me trust my body's signals.
But intuitive eating alone didn't get me to Cabo this time.
What got me there was going upstream. I examined why I needed to control my food in the first place. Traced it back to the belief that I needed to shrink my body to deserve the life I wanted. Then I did the work to replace that belief with one I actually chose.
My body is not a measure of my worth. My body is a tool to experience my life.
That shift happened through self-coaching. Through meeting myself with compassion every time I fell back into old patterns, which was often. I became my own biggest advocate. I started treating myself the way I treat the people I love most.
That is what changed.
Why This Matters To You
The women you work with are not struggling because they lack discipline. They are struggling because they are trying to fix a behavior that is downstream of a belief system they have never been invited to question.
The coping tools will always be load-bearing until the foundational belief changes.
That is the work. And it starts with doing it yourself first. You cannot hold that space for a client somewhere you have never been.
This Is The Work We Do In My Mentorship
We first start by learning a method of coaching, Cognitive Behavior Coaching, that will allow you to change your thoughts.
Then learn tools and somatic techniques to build up a higher level of emotional intelligence.
Then redesign your beliefs system around your self-worth, body image and food.
We deep dive into the intuitive eating process to become a normal eater and body neutrality to to build respect for your body.
If this hits home: Thatâs where my professional mentorship lands.
A high level coaching experience with me.
I invite you to consider it .
Non-Diet Professional Mentorship
Either way, thank you for being here. Itâs an honor to be part of your world.
With love,
